We currently have openings in a few grade levels.  Please contact the Admissions Office for more information.

Admission for 2018-2019 – First Round Consideration

Key Dates:

  • November 3, 2017 – Opening of Admissions for 2018-2019
  • February 2, 2018 – First Round Consideration Deadline
  • March 9, 2018 – First Round Notification Letters Mailed

The Admissions Office will continue to receive applications for any remaining spots not filled during the first or subsequent rounds and do so until all available spots are filled.  WE anticipate that Grammar School (grades K-5) and Logic School (grades 6-8) will fill early in the admissions season.  Wait pools for grade levels  will be created but are limited in size.  Once a wait pool is full, then the online application for that grade level will be closed.  Applications received after February 2 will not be considered until after notification letters are mailed March 9.

Open Houses:  Open Houses for admission in 2018-2019 will be held on November 3, November 10, December 8 and January 19.  Click HERE for information about the Open Houses. To register for an Open House, please complete the information on the Request Information/Open House Registration page.

Testing (Grades 5-11th):  Students applying for 5th grade and above must take the Independent School Entrance Examination (www.iseetest.org).  Geneva hosts the ISEE on our campus for students applying to our school for first round consideration.  If you wish to have your student tested at Geneva, please contact the Admission Office at least three weeks before the test date to pre-register.  The ISEE test dates at Geneva:

  • Saturday, November 11, 2017

ISEE testing at Geneva is conducted from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Other private schools in our area are “open” test sites in which any student applying to any school may sit for the test.  In addition, Prometrics is a testing facility with locations across the country, including San Antonio (16648 San Pedro Avenue, San Antonio, 78232, 210-494-7263). To register your student to take the test at an “open” private school test site or at Prometrics, go to www.iseetest.org.  Our school’s code is 447583, which is needed for the registration form. This test must be taken before an application is considered complete and ready for review.

Application Review:  Once the application (including testing) is complete, the file will be reviewed by the Headmaster of the school to which the student is applying for approval to proceed to the next step in the application process.

Student Interview:  All students of both current and new families applying to 4th grade and above will interview with the Headmaster of the school to which they are applying. The Admissions Office will contact the family to schedule the student interview.

Parent Interview:  Once an application has received approval from the Headmaster, the Admissions Office will contact parents to schedule their parent interview.  The parent interview is only necessary for new families, not current GSB families.  Parent interviews will be conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Andrea Martin in the Admissions Office (830-755-6101, ext. 203).
