Admissions applications for all grade levels are now closed for 2018-19 as we process applications completed by February 2, 2018 for the First Round of Consideration.

The Admissions Office will continue to receive applications beginning March 19, 2018 for the Second Round of Consideration for any remaining spots not filled during the first round and do so until all available spots are filled.  We anticipate that Grammar School (grades K-5) and Logic School (grades 6-8) will fill early in the admissions season.  Wait pools for grade levels  will be created but are limited in size.  Once a wait pool is full, then the online application for that grade level will be closed.

Open Houses:  Open Houses for admission in 2018-2019 were held on November 3, November 10, December 8 and January 19.

Campus Tours:  All applicants will be required to tour our campus and visit classrooms.  Please contact the Admissions Office to schedule a tour.

Online Application: The application requires the following items to be considered complete and ready for review by the Headmaster of the school to which the student is applying:

  1. Student Photo
  2. Family Photo
  3. Copy of Official State Birth Certificate
  4. Copy of Current Report Card (or Progress Report, if Kinder applicant)

Testing (Grades K-4th):  The Admissions Office will contact the applicant family to schedule on-site testing. Please note that Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by August 1st of the entering school year.

Testing (Grades 5-11th):  Students applying for 5th grade and above must take the Independent School Entrance Examination (www.iseetest.org).

Other Private schools in our area are “open” test sites in which any student applying to any school may sit for the test.  In addition, Prometrics is a testing facility with locations across the country, including San Antonio (16648 San Pedro Avenue, San Antonio, 78232, 210-494-7263). To register your student to take the test at an “open” private school test site or at Prometrics, go to www.iseetest.org.  Our school’s code is 447583, which is needed for the registration form. This test must be taken before an application is considered complete and ready for review.

Application Review:  Once the application (including testing) is complete, the file will be reviewed by the Headmaster of the school to which the student is applying for approval to proceed to the next step in the application process.

Student Interview:  All students of both current and new families applying to 4th grade and above will interview with the Headmaster of the school to which they are applying. The Admissions Office will contact the family to schedule the student interview.

Parent Interview:  Once an application has received approval from the Headmaster, the Admissions Office will contact parents to schedule their parent interview.  The parent interview is only necessary for new families, not current GSB families.  Parent interviews will be conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
