Mars Hill Lecture - Dr. Louis Markos

    7:00-8:30pm

The annual Mars Hill Lecture is held in the school's Lyceum and is open and free of charge to the public.

The Mars Hill Lecture, launched in 2008 and sponsored by Geneva’s Rhetoric School, is named after the place in Classical Athens where councils and trials were held. Mars Hill, also known as the Areopagus, was also the place where the Apostle Paul, inspired by an altar inscribed “to the unknown god,” delivered his famous sermon recorded in Acts 17.  This year's lecture will feature Houston Baptist University professor Dr. Louis Markos.  Dr. Markos will speak about the “Classical and Theological Virtues in Lewis and Tolkien.”

    Geneva Blood Drive

    All Day

We hope to have at least 50 donors (anyone: students 16 and up, parents, teachers).  You can reserve your donation slot by logging on to our SignUp Genius page.

The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center was hard hit by the freeze and has asked for our help. From the Center: “The freeze we had this past January really stressed the blood supply as we lost 700 donations when schools, businesses, and churches were closed to sit out the storm.  Donors stayed home and were not available to donate.  At this point, we are trying to replace the inventory we lost so that we may have more than a 24 hour supply.”
