Geneva Spelling Bee Winner Advances to Regional Contest

Geneva School held its annual spelling bee for students in sixth through eighth grades on Monday, January 8. Sixth grade student Will Muck  was crowned the 2018 Geneva Logic School Spelling Bee Champion. With the win, Muck (pictured at right, in middle) earns the right to represent Geneva School at the 65th Annual San Antonio Express-News Regional Spelling Bee on February 17. Seventh grade student Gage Secor finished as runner-up and sixth-grader Claire Coultress earned third place.

The 2018 Geneva Spelling Bee finalists were Zach Brunsvold, Roman Chase, Claire Coultress, Hadley Crafton, Avery Eggerss, Brooks Fessler, Hailey Kirchner, Grant Mowery, Will Muck, Nick Nowosiwsky, Gage Secor and Nicolas Siller. These students competed in preliminary rounds to qualify for the final round of competition which determined the champion.

“The time and effort these students spent to prepare for the Spelling Bee was evident. We applaud all their efforts of excellence!” Geneva Logic School humanities teacher Mary Clifford said.
