ATHLETICS

Strength and Conditioning Coach

Geneva School of Boerne is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2018- 2019 school year. Geneva coaches have a passion to use coaching as an opportunity to disciple and mentor young men and women to become well-rounded Christian ambassadors who demonstrate Christ-like humility and selflessness, coupled with confidence and poise on the field of play.  In addition, Geneva coaching staff has the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community, which is essential.

The Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist Head Coaches with the physical and mental development of student-athletes through the use of sport-specific, scientifically-based training programs that develop speed, strength, and work capacity. This coach will implement a vision for unifying athletes through the common shared goal of athletic fitness.

Job functions include:

  • Perform duties as a minister and steward of the Christian faith
  • Coordinate and oversee all conditioning and training for various middle school and high school sports teams
  • Maintain detailed records for assigned programs and develop annual written programs for student-athletes to follow
  • Assist with all operational needs and maintenance of facility

Essential Requirements

  • A disciple of Jesus Christ and, as such, one who models a love for God through obedience to His Word. Such obedience is evidenced through convictions, lifestyle and worldview.
  • A full and unreserved supporter of Geneva School’s Statement of Faith
  • A holder of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
  • Current certification from one of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa and/or USA Weightlifting Certification

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Sports Performance or related field
  • 3 years of strength and conditioning coaching experience

Logic School Athletics Coordinator

Geneva School of Boerne is seeking a Logic School (LS) Athletics Coordinator. The Athletics Division has a passion to use athletics as an opportunity to disciple and mentor young men and women to become well-rounded Christian ambassadors who demonstrate Christ-like humility and selflessness, coupled with confidence and poise on the field of play.  In addition, Geneva coaching staff has the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community, which is essential.

The LS Athletics Coordinator works with students in grades 6-8.  This position will be responsible for the administration and supervision of all athletic events and programs in accordance with Independent Schools Athletic League (ISAL) involving LS students.  The LS Athletics Coordinator will also work closely with the Athletic Director and LS Headmaster to plan and oversee the Logic School P.E. programming.

JV Head Volleyball Coach/ Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach

Geneva School of Boerne is taking applications for a JV Head Volleyball Coach/ Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach. Geneva coaches have a passion to use coaching as an opportunity to disciple and mentor young men and women to become well-rounded Christian ambassadors who demonstrate Christ-like humility and selflessness, coupled with confidence and poise on the field of play.  In addition, the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community is essential.

The JV Head/Varsity Assistant Coach primarily supports the Varsity Head Coach through the administration of the Volleyball program by coaching, training and motivating student-athletes in order to achieve competitive success; assisting the Head Coach in organizing and scheduling practices, facilities and games; scouting opponents and breaking down video.

GRAMMAR SCHOOL (K – 5th)

The Grammar School Teacher provides instruction in an educational environment where students develop a love for God’s created order as they discover the truth, goodness and beauty of His world through methods consistent with the first stage of the classical approach to learning known as the trivium. An emphasis is placed on a biblical worldview in order to prepare these students with excellence so they are equipped to pursue God’s truth, knowledge and wisdom, and to do so with diligence and perseverance.

This is a full-time, academic year position beginning August 1, 2018 for the 2018-19 academic year.  In general, the workday is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days a week for ten months.  There is a mandatory faculty meeting once a week from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Exceptions are when the school is closed for designated holiday breaks.

  • Five years teaching experience in an educational setting.

RHETORIC SCHOOL (9th -12th)

Long-Term Substitute Position:

Rhetoric School Biology and Earth Science Teacher, Grades 9, 11-12:  The Rhetoric School Science Teacher will provide classroom and laboratory instruction in Biology and Earth Science to high school grade students using classical methods and a Biblical worldview.  This is a full-time, long-term substitute teaching position. In general, the workday is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days a week. There is a mandatory faculty meeting once a week from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Exceptions are when the school is closed for designated holiday breaks.

Required:  Bachelor’s degree either biology, earth science or a related field; experience teaching and/or ministering to high school students

Preferred:  Experience teaching high school life and/or earth sciences; state certification in Life Science or High School Science.
