 ATHLETICS

JV Head Volleyball Coach/ Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach

Geneva School of Boerne is taking applications for a JV Head Volleyball Coach/ Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach. Geneva coaches have a passion to use coaching as an opportunity to disciple and mentor young men and women to become well-rounded Christian ambassadors who demonstrate Christ-like humility and selflessness, coupled with confidence and poise on the field of play.  In addition, the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community is essential.

The JV Head/Varsity Assistant Coach primarily supports the Varsity Head Coach through the administration of the Volleyball program by coaching, training and motivating student-athletes in order to achieve competitive success; assisting the Head Coach in organizing and scheduling practices, facilities and games; scouting opponents and breaking down video.

BUSINESS OFFICE

FACILITIES

Facilities Technician:  This position provides day-to-day maintenance and repair of the school’s facilities, physical plant and grounds. This includes the inspection and general upkeep of buildings, recreational and athletic facilities, mechanical systems, and public spaces.  This may involve scheduled repair and/or maintenance to buildings or equipment; making recommendations for more advanced repair needs, troubleshooting problems (whether physical or logistical); and reconfiguring shared facility space as necessary.

Requirements include:  A valid, unrestricted Texas driver’s license; a minimum of two years of experience in facilities maintenance; a general knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electricity and general construction; knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to grounds keeping and facilities maintenance work; knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly-paid, year-round position.  Because this is a full-time position, the employee will be eligible for life, health and retirement savings benefits.

GRAMMAR SCHOOL (K – 5th)

LOGIC SCHOOL (6th – 8th)

RHETORIC SCHOOL (9th -12th)

Rhetoric School Instructor, Grades 9-12:  The Rhetoric School Instructor will teach Spanish 1, Latin 2 and a Humanities/Theology elective to high school grade students using classical methods and a Biblical worldview.

This is a full-time, academic year position. In general, the workday is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days a week for ten months. There is a mandatory faculty meeting once a week from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Exceptions are when the school is closed for designated holiday breaks.

 Essential Requirements

  • A disciple of Jesus Christ and as such, one who models a love for God through obedience to His Word. Such obedience is evidenced through convictions, lifestyle and worldview
  • A full and unreserved supporter of the school’s Statement of Faith
  • An experienced teacher from an educational or ministerial setting for a period of time sufficient to develop and hone the basic skills of teaching and in order to learn if the profession meets his or her interest, ability and calling.
  • A mentor of students, comfortable in working with teenagers in a discipleship-oriented setting
  • A holder of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of and experience with the philosophy of classical Christian education
  • Five years teaching experience in an educational setting

FINE ARTS (6th -12th)

Orchestra Director, Grades 6-12:  The Orchestra Director prepares students to celebrate God’s truth, knowledge and wisdom through music.  This includes providing instruction to two distinct student groups:  Logic School (6th through 8th grades) and Rhetoric School (9th through 12th grades).  Requirements include:  a Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience working with teenagers; fluency in reading music; proficiency in playing a stringed instrument; and an understanding of music theory.  A Bachelor’s degree in music, five year teaching music in a school setting and a State of Texas certification in music is preferred.

This is a full-time, academic year position.  The typical workday schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Preparations for instrumental music performances and Fine Arts Department competitions will typically occur outside of this schedule and may require significant time commitments and travel.  Faculty meetings are also required.  See the job description for a full listing of requirements and job duties.
