Why she is at Geneva: “Through prayer and waiting upon the Lord, God has led my family to Geneva. I am so blessed and excited to be teaching His children!”
Interesting tidbit: Chris loves to camp and letterbox with her family.


PAM CHESSER

Education: BS Communication Sciences and Disorders University of Texas at Austin
Family: Husband Robert, son Jacob
Why she is at Geneva: “Having taught in private school and then ten years in a public school, I am so thankful for God calling me back into the Christian school setting. I am blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord here at Geneva.”
Interesting tidbit: Pam enjoys time with her family, whether it be traveling, serving together at church, or just hanging out. One of their favorite things is hiking in Colorado.


LORI DE LUNA

Kindergarten
Education: BA Elementary Education Pensacola Christian College
Family: Husband Paul, children Nathan, Andrew, Julianne, and Bethany are glad to be a part of Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “Blessed with four children, my husband and I were led to Geneva to fulfill our mission as parents. It is evident that God is blessing the efforts within this community, and I am thrilled to be part of it as parent and teacher. Teaching Kindergarten students and serving their families is a joy; I’m so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the opportunity!”
Interesting tidbit: Lori enjoys experimenting with new recipes for her family and finding treasures at garage sales. As first-time expectant parents in 1999, she and Paul attended an introductory meeting to the newly formed Geneva School of Boerne. Four children, an out-of-state move, and many years later, God brought them back to Geneva in His perfect time.


BARBARA DE VRIES

5th Grade Language Arts

Family: Husband James, children Chloe (Class of 2016), Emma, Michael, and Brooke attend Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “As a family, we continue to value the quality of the Christian and classical education our children receive at Geneva. With three of our children attending the school, and a love for teaching students, it is a blessing to be called to serve at this campus.”


MYNETTE DRAWE

1st Grade
Education: BA Liberal Arts California State University, Long Beach
Family: Husband Nathan, children Trent (Class of 2015) and Kira who attends Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “After many special years teaching in Southern California and Austin, Texas, God blessed us with our son Trent. With Trent, I became a full time mommy. After eight years and two beautiful children, God has led me back to the wonderful ministry of teaching at Geneva where His presence is amazing.”
Interesting tidbit: Mynette’s first year of teaching, she had thirty-two first graders. Half of the students spoke Spanish and the other half spoke English. Although her grandfather is from Mexico, she does not speak a word of Spanish! She still smiles when she thinks about those incredible children who taught her so much and began her journey as an educator.


TINA DUBE 

Math Specialist
Education: BS Education Iowa State University; MS Math Education University of Houston
Family: Husband Eric and sons A.J. and Nick who attend Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “During our first visit to Geneva, Eric and I knew this was where we wanted our children to attend. Since then, I realized God has called me here to share my passion for math in an environment where disciplined students are taught to look for the beauty in the world around them.”
Interesting tidbit: Tina loves playing volleyball, basketball, tennis, and softball.


BRANDI EVANS 

4th Grade History and Bible

Family: Parents Doug and Karen Evans in Kerrville, three brothers, including her twin
Why she is at Geneva: “I feel called to teach children about the Lord. Growing up in the Texas Hill Country, I felt led to seek an opportunity to teach near home. I am so honored to be a part of the Geneva community.”
Interesting tidbit: Growing up with three brothers, Brandi developed a love for the outdoors and sports.


 MARCUS GABRIEL

4th Grade Math and Science
Education: BS Kinesiology-Physical Education, Texas certified teacher PE EL-2 University of Texas at San Antonio
Family: Wife Carmel, son Redd
Why he is at Geneva: “After many years of families encouraging me to come to Geneva, I felt the Lord was very clear that now is the time. I am grateful that the heartbeat of this campus is Jesus and I am thankful to now be a part of it.”
Interesting tidbit: The first time that Marcus flew in an airplane was when he went sky diving.


AMY GORDON

2nd Grade
Education: BS Accounting Trinity University; teaching certificate
Family: Husband Marty, sons Wright and Philip who attend Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “I want to teach in a Christian school where academics are top priority, but everything is taught with a Biblical worldview.
Interesting tidbit: Amy was a CPA with a Big 8 accounting firm before God led her to teaching. She taught 2nd grade in San Antonio for five years.

Why she is at Geneva: “I believe God called me here after several years of prayer. I love teaching children about God and the world He made for us.”

ALEX MARKOS

3rd-5th Grade Latin
Education: BA History and Classics Hope College
Family: Parents Louis and Donna in Houston and sister Stacey at Houston Baptist University
Why he is at Geneva: “Only God in His perfect timing could have led me to Geneva. I love the Christian and classical education model and I am blessed to be able to share my passion with young students.”
Interesting tidbit: During his senior year at Hope, Alex spent a semester abroad in Athens, Greece.


 PENNY MORRIS

Education: AS Child Development San Antonio College
Family: Husband Mike, son Matt, and daughter Megan
Why she is at Geneva: “I love teaching young children and believe God answered the desires of my heart by placing me in a Kindergarten classroom.”
Interesting tidbit: Penny enjoys drives through the Hill Country with her husband Mike in their antique car. She also enjoys treasure hunting at yard sales. Teaching children for the past twenty plus years has been pure joy.


TONYA MOWERY

Why she is at Geneva: “I love the Christian and classical curriculum! I am excited to be a part of this community and I’m thrilled that my boys have the opportunity to receive a quality education at Geneva.”


SUSAN NAISER

2nd Grade
Education: BS Interdisciplinary Studies with reading and ESL endorsement
Family: Husband Derek, children Katie (Sophomore at Texas A&M University), Cassie (Senior at Boerne High School), and Clay (7th Grade at Boerne Middle School North)
Why she is at Geneva: “I am returning to teaching after having the opportunity to raise my family. I’m so excited about the new call God has put on my life. I’m so grateful to be able to use my gifts to the glory of God through Geneva School. I count it a huge privilege.”
Interesting tidbit: Susan was once a radio D.J. and she whistle really loudly using her pinkie fingers. She is really good at towing horse or boat trailers.

Family: Husband Cody, daughters Mazzy (who attends Geneva) and baby Kinley
Why she is at Geneva: “The Lord clearly led our family to Geneva. I am thrilled and blessed to work in a school where a biblical worldview is integrated with a rigorous curriculum. I love watching my students grow and learn about God’s world.”
Interesting tidbit: As a child, Amelia competed in dog shows.


VANESSA PETTY

Family: Husband Shane, children Aedan, Zach, and Kyra (all attend Geneva)
Why she is at Geneva: “God called our family to Geneva six years ago because of Geneva’s Christian and classical approach to education. Now, to serve as a teacher, I have the perfect platform to teach through Science a love for God and His creation.”
Interesting tidbit: Vanessa is a CrossFit coach.

Family: Husband Travis, sons Grant and Jake (both attend Geneva)
Why she is at Geneva: “I am at Geneva because I love Jesus and I love doing kingdom work with children. I am passionate about fitness and I am excited to help them excel in the classroom.”
Interesting tidbit: Laura is a CrossFit coach and she loves Olympic lifting.

Family: Husband Gilberto, children Nicolas and Samuel who attend Geneva, and a younger son Christopher
Why she is at Geneva: “We feel so blessed as a family to be part of this wonderful community. It is a privilege to share my passion for education in an environment that fosters high quality education within a Biblical worldview.”
Interesting tidbit: Melissa was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador and she loves to travel.


KERI STRICKLAND      

3rd Grade

Family: Husband David, daughters Taylor and Danielle (Class of 2014), and son Brandon who attends Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “As a passionate believer in Christian and classical education, I am honored that God has led our family to Geneva, where the Christian faith is lived out through the administration, teachers, and parents alike. Teaching at a school whose heart is turned toward God and His children allows me the blessing of speaking Truth into the children whose lives God has entrusted to my care.”
Interesting tidbit: Keri is a second generation homeschool and private school teacher.


STEPHANIE SWANSON

Why she is at Geneva: “I am here because the Lord graciously led my family to Geneva. We feel overly blessed that Jack and Maggie are able to attend and that the Lord is allowing me to teach at this precious school.”

Education: BS Education with a specialization in History Texas Tech University; teaching certificate 1st-8th Grades
Family: son Cade who attends Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “I love the community of Geneva and how gracious all of the teachers and administrators are. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching my son thrive in such an amazing environment and I am excited to be a part of it.”
Interesting tidbit: Shelly has snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef.


ROBYN WENDEL

3rd Grade
Education: BS Early Childhood Education Texas A&M University
Family: Husband Nick and parents Jimmy and Lisa Zachary of Midland
Why she is at Geneva: “My husband and I moved from Midland to the Texas Hill Country in the summer of 2015. I previously taught third grade in a Title 1 school in Midland and worked for Young Life. I am blessed to be a teacher at Geneva and have loved experiencing its wonderful community. Anytime I get the chance, I love to tell people that I wouldn’t want to teach anywhere else!”
Interesting tidbit: Robyn was on the Archery Team at Texas A&M University.

Family: Husband Dustin, children Madilyn and Nathan who attend Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “Our family is blessed to be part of Geneva! I am honored to teach at a Christ- centered school that values high expectations for students, faculty, and parents.
Interesting tidbit: Jennifer loves to roller skate. She skated competitively when she was a child.
