Why he is at Geneva: “God shuts doors and opens them. He shows His most excellent way. Right now I recognize His hand in preparing me for this task. I am excited to be here.”
Interesting tidbit: Josh loves building things and even built his own house!


DR. RON BRACY

6th Grade Old Testament; 8th Grade Historical Theology
Education: BS Humanities United Air Force Academy; MDiv Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; PhD Old Testament Studies with Minor in New Testament Studies and Ethics Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
Family: Wife Judith Rae, daughter Tonya, son Todd (killed serving in war), five grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren
Why he is at Geneva: “I believe God has brought me here to make a difference in the life of my students. I feel I have ‘come home’ culturally, academically, and spiritually.”
Interesting tidbit: Ron flew 183 combat missions during the Vietnam War. He was on duty at the Pentagon during the terrorist attack on September 11, 2011 and was a part of the effort to save people’s lives.


MORGAN BROWN

7th Grade Latin; 8th Grade Latin
Education: BA Classics Baylor University
Family: Married to wonderful husband Royal
Why she is at Geneva: “God is good and led me to this wonderful place. I feel blessed to be able to teach at this amazing, God-filled place.”
Interesting tidbit: Before working at Geneva, Morgan worked at her family’s custom cowboy boot making business, Little’s Boot Company.


KAREN CATE

6th Grade Math; 7th Grade Logic
Education: BA Education Abilene Christian University
Family: Husband Eric, children Adison (Class of 2017) and Dawson (attends Geneva)
Why she is at Geneva: “I was a stay-at-home mom for nine years until substitute teaching re-lit my passion for teaching.”
Interesting tidbit: The Cates love spending time together as a family and working on projects, like their family tree-house. Karen likes to run and in May 2008 she and Adison completed a mother-daughter triathlon relay.


MARY CLIFFORD

Education: BA English California State University, Fullerton; graduate work in Education Chapman University
Family: Husband Jim, sons Jack (Class of 2013) and Trevor (Class of 2016), dog Murphy, and cat Jasper
Why she is at Geneva: “I have a calling and a passion for teaching and children. The Lord prepared the way and clearly led me here to teach at Geneva.”
Interesting tidbit: Mary loves surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, and Shark Week!


BARBARA DE VRIES

Family: Husband James, children Chloe (Class of 2016), Emma, Michael, and Brooke attend Geneva
Why she is at Geneva: “As a family, we continue to value the quality of the Christian and classical education our children receive at Geneva. With three of our children attending the school, and a love for teaching students, it is a blessing to be called to serve at this campus.”


BEN KNUDSON

Percussion Instructor 6th – 12th
Education:  UTSA – Bachelor of Arts in Music and certificate of Music Technology
Family: wife Kinleigh
Why he is at Geneva:  to teach percussion to 6th-12th graders; looking forward to a great year!
Interesting tidbit:  He loves to hike and climb in the mountains!


LORIE MILAM                                                                    

8th Grade Algebra 1
Education: BBA West Texas State University; MPA University of Texas at Austin; MTax University of Denver
Family: Married to Mike; son, Scott and daughter-in-law Danielle; son Jason
Why she is at Geneva: “I believe the classical method with a Christian worldview will better equip students to further the kingdom of God. I am excited about being a part of that process.”
Interesting tidbit: While recently living in Colorado, Lorie and her husband enjoyed mountain climbing, including several of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks.


SCOTT MILAM    

6th Grade Latin; 7th Grade New Testament Survey
Education: BA Classics and Philosophy Baylor University; MDiv Education Truett Theological Seminary
Family: Wife Danielle, son Watson, son of fellow-faculty member Lorie Milam
Why he is at Geneva: “It is my life’s calling to disciple young men and women by opening their minds to God’s Word and to the Great Conversation that pervades His Kingdom.”
Interesting tidbit: Scott previously served in church work as an Associate Pastor and Youth Minister, as well as a short-term missionary and group leader in Hong Kong and Nicaragua.


MALLORY ROCKWELL

6th Grade Earth Science; 7th Grade Life Science
Education: BS Molecular and Cellular Biology University of Illinois; MEd Secondary Education University of Phoenix
Family: Married to Rodney
Why she is at Geneva: “Looking back, I see the clear path that the Lord laid out for me to arrive here at Geneva. I have come to know Geneva as a wonderful and blessed place to share not only my love for Christ, but my love for science and His creation. I am grateful and excited to be a part of the Geneva family and see the Lord’s hand at work in our students and community.”
Interesting tidbit: Mallory is an avid fan of Major League Baseball and is on a mission to visit all of the MLB stadiums.


LESLIE TAYLOR

7th Grade Pre-Algebra; 6th Grade Logic; NJHS Sponsor
Education: BBA Marketing with International Business Minor Texas A&M University; Texas Certified Teacher 4-8 Generalist, 8-12 Mathematics
Family: Husband Jeff, children Jack, Emery and Harper (Geneva students), and Moss
Why she is at Geneva: “I felt a strong ‘nudge’ from God to learn about Geneva. I am so excited to be a part of a community in which I can teach mathematics and at the same time inspire students in their spiritual growth with Christ. The educational goal at Geneva is to make lifetime learners out of its students. I want that for my children and I want to be as close to the action as I can to see it all happen, not only for my children but for my students.”
Interesting tidbit: Leslie has completed two marathons, several triathlons, and would love to participate in an Ironman triathlon.


DENNIS TROYER

6th Grade World History and Geography; 7th Grade Texas History and Geography
Education: BA History University of Texas at San Antonio; pursuing MA in Biblical Studies The Master’s Seminary
Family: Wife Stephanie, children Rachel and Esther Rose who attend Geneva, and Ruth Ellen
Why he is at Geneva: “Good friends convinced me that Geneva was the right place for me to teach.”
Interesting tidbit: Dennis’ parents were Amish.


BENJAMIN VIS

6th – 12th Choir / Theory and AP Theory
Education:  B.M. – Vocal Performance; B.M.E.
Family:  wife Meredith; son Christian attends Geneva, daughters Bristol and Madeline
Why he is at Geneva:  “God’s leading in my life has prepared me for the unique Geneva culture, and I am enthusiastic to be used by Him.”
Interesting tidbit:  In a five mile race of almost 800 participants, he placed in the top 20.


DEBBIE WHEELER

8th Grade Language Arts
Education: BA English with Education minor Texas Tech University
Family: Husband Curtis, son Wesley (Class of 2015), daughters Jessica (Class of 2017) and Jordan (attends Geneva)
Why she is at Geneva: “I received a clear call from God that not only was it time for me to return to teaching, but that Geneva was exactly where He wanted me.”
Interesting tidbit: Debbie loves road trips, photography, and collecting sand from places she goes…or that people bring her from fun places they go! She has a bottle of “Mount Geneva” in her classroom.


STEPHANIE WILSON

8th Grade Civics
Education: BA Marketing and Management Baylor University; educational studies Texas A&M—Corpus Christi
Family: Husband Buddy, sons Karl, Fisher (Class of 2014) and Chase (current Geneva student), step-son Sean and his wife Cara, and three precious grandchildren
Why she is at Geneva: “I have had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for my boys. When Fisher started at Geneva in 6th grade, I felt God stirring me to something I didn’t yet fully know. The Lord has graciously placed this path before me and I now have the privilege of teaching from a Christian worldview at an amazing school.”
Interesting tidbit: Stephanie likes crafty things and loves to read, as evidenced by her long Amazon wish list.
