The Return of Friday Night Lights

This fall, Geneva will once again hold home football games on our campus.  We are now able to accommodate the large crowds we get for home games thanks to the addition of new bleachers this summer.  The bleachers were made possible in part through the support of the Geneva Booster Club.

From 2008 to 2014, Geneva competed in six-man football.  After winning the TAPPS State Championship in six-man in 2014, the players and coaches pushed for the move to 11-man football in 2015.  That year, the varsity team, playing an “independent” schedule, went undefeated.  Last year while playing in a district for the first time in 11-man, the team went undefeated in district play, earning district champ honors.  For the last two years, we have played home varsity games at Boerne ISD stadium, usually on Saturdays.  This fall, we will host our home games on campus on Friday nights!

We will hold our first home varsity football game on September 15.  Our boys will play Brackettville that evening in a non-district match.  The following Friday night (September 22), they will host Austin Savio, another non-district opponent and the source of the only loss last year.  The first home district game takes place on October 20 when Geneva hosts Brentwood Christian.  This will also serve as our Homecoming game.  In November, we will hold home varsity games on the 3rd (Hallettsville Sacred Heart) and the 10th (John Paul II).  All varsity home games start at 7:30 pm.

Membership in the Geneva Booster Club gets you and your family into all home (non-playoff) games for any sport for free.  Booster is selling memberships online through their Geneva Outfitter Store (https://genevaoutfitter.com/).  The Booster Club membership for a family is $175 a year.  Otherwise, admission to home football games is $8 for adults, $5 for students with children 10 and under free.  Admission prices are set by the TAPPS district.

Please come out this fall to cheer on our Geneva Eagles as they compete on Friday night under our lights.
