Under Rosenstiel’s leadership, the Geneva Eagles varsity football team reached the TAPPS Division III Semifinal Game where they fell to Lubbock Christian. Rosenstiel has a distinguished football background, including a successful professional playing career in the National Football League (NFL) and the Xtreme Football League (XFL), complemented by valuable experience coaching at the high school level.

“Winning the Henderson Cup is an affirmation of Geneva’s triple commitment to academics, athletics and fine arts. Our school resists early specialization in any one area. Instead, we encourage all our students to participate in all three and we work hard to make it possible for them to do so. We want our students to explore who God created them to be and what it is that He created them to do. The Henderson Cup is a result of the enthusiasm with which they have embraced these opportunities at Geneva,” Geneva Head of School Leslie Moeller said.

This 2024-25 TAPPS accomplishment included a Division II Orchestra State Championship for the second year in a row (and five times overall) as well as State Runner-up finishes in the Vocal Competition, Varsity Girls Basketball and Varsity Girls Volleyball.

Geneva has won the Henderson Cup four times as a TAPPS 4A school (2017-18, 2018-19, 2022-23, 2024-25), twice as a TAPPS 3A school (2014-2015, 2015-2016), twice as a 2A school (2012-2013, 2013-2014) and three times as a 1A school (2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012).

The school first introduced varsity competition to its students in the 2008-09 school year. The first graduating senior class was in 2011 with 19 students. Forty-two seniors will graduate from Geneva in the Class of 2025.

Geneva is a 12-PK school that provides a classical education from a biblical worldview to equip students for a lifetime of learning, service and leadership to the glory of Jesus Christ. Geneva focuses on developing core skills needed to learn and succeed—reading, writing, speaking, listening, understanding, thinking and creating. Geneva shapes students to embrace virtue—faith, hope, love, prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance.

Geneva junior Brady Chandler represented Geneva at the TAPPS 4A State Competition where he earned silver in pole vault, fourth in long jump and fifth in the 100m.

Before turning professional, Rosenstiel built a strong foundation as a standout tight end for Eastern Illinois University, where his dedication and performance earned him recognition and paved the way for his future opportunities.

Rosenstiel’s impressive career includes playing tight end for NFL teams such as the Oakland Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as in the XFL for the New York/New Jersey Hitmen. His high school coaching experience includes one year as Tight End Coach at Napa High School in California, three years as Receiver Coach at Vintage High School in California, and the past three years (2022 – 2025) at Geneva School of Boerne, where he served as offensive line coach, wide receivers coach, special teams coordinator for two years, and Head Coach for track.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Bob as the leader of our varsity football program,” said Trent Nesmith, Athletic Director. “His extensive playing and coaching experience, combined with his commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field, make him an ideal fit for Geneva. We are confident that he will build upon our strong foundation and lead the Eagles to continued success.”

Rosenstiel is married to Nicole, whom he met during his time with the Raiders. Their family includes two children: Jacob, a former Geneva football player now playing tight end at Shasta College in California, and Avarie, a junior at Champion High School, member of the student council and as an officer of the varsity Champion Charms dance team.

“I am truly honored and enthusiastic about the opportunity to lead the Geneva football program,” Rosenstiel said. “I look forward to working with the talented student-athletes, dedicated coaching staff, and supportive Geneva community to build a program that excels on the field while upholding the school’s values.”

Geneva’s Athletic Director Trent Nesmith added, “We are thrilled to have Coach Rosenstiel take the helm of our football program. His vision for developing our student-athletes, coupled with his impressive football pedigree, makes us incredibly optimistic about the future of Geneva Eagles football. We believe he will build a program that our entire community can be proud of.”

Rosenstiel looks forward to connecting with the team and the Geneva community as he prepares for the upcoming football season.
