One of the most influential books I have read other than the Bible was George Orwell’s Animal Farm because it showed the fault of man and how power affects them.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
One of my favorite and the funniest moments I’ve seen at Geneva was when Phil, Pablo, Sam, Jason and I showed off our film “Painsgiving” to our cinema class. Watching Mr. Harrild fall out of his chair in laughter at our bad acting, lightsaber fighting and slapstick humor was very memorable.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss the tight-knit community that we have: knowing all the students and having personal connections with all my teachers.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Mr. Arizpe has been the most influential teacher I’ve had at Geneva because of his life stories and devos.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student means working every day as hard as you can while also trying to live like Christ in everthing that you do.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage a Kindergartener by telling them to have fun with school.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the teachers continue to make an effort to have personal connections with all their students.

What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
One of the most influential books I have read is Paradise Lost by John Milton. Overall, it is a great book, but mostly it allows one to understand references made in other required books. (It’s kind of like The Princess Bride of the 18th and 19th centuries!)

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
It was pretty funny when Will Muck “nailed” his thesis to Dr. Rosheger’s door.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will definitely miss my teachers a lot.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Probably my father, Mr. Troyer. He drove me to and from school, helped me study, gave me lots of extra background information for whatever I was studying in History and Bible, and he was even my Sunday School teacher for several years.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student means performing with excellence in a wide range of difficult activities.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
You should find something that you love, whether that is Art, Reading, PE, Math, or even just lunch, and look forward to that thing; it makes the rest so much easier. Also, make lots of friends in all the grades.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope we never get rid of AIM buddies.

What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
The most influential book I’ve read besides the Bible would have to be… well, I have two! As far as fiction literature goes, the entire Giver series by Lois Lowry will always take first prize. It gave me such perspective on why each person’s unique gifts are so important. Now, for my little horse-girl heart’s favorite: The Horse In Positive Tension by Stefan Stammer as it taught me so much about horses’ biology and how to ride in a way that works in harmony with their movements.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
My funniest Geneva moment was at the Rainforest Cafe with the choir right before we were supposed to go watch “Les Mis.” They took over an hour to get our food, and the doors for the show were literally closing as we were still paying our checks. Mr. Buzas told us, “I’ll get your cards—RUN!” And so we ran. Sam Siller headed the pack, girls took off their heels to book it across downtown San Antonio in the dark, and we barely slid into the Majestic Theatre as they were shutting the doors. Worth it!

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I’ll definitely miss the teachers most. So many of my teachers have made invaluable contributions to who I am as a person, and I find so much comfort in knowing that I am known by each of them personally.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Mrs. Wheeler has been my biggest influence at Geneva. She has taught me true kindness and selflessness, acting as almost a second mother to me—”in loco parentis.”

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student to me means “perseverance.” You are not always going to get the easy A, the perfect attendance, the headmaster’s list—life will throw you curve balls, and in all honesty sometimes you’ll want to quit. The thing that sets Geneva apart is that when we reach a rough spot, we dig our proverbial heels in and find our strength in God. Although it’s difficult, the payoff is worth it a thousand times.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would start off by saying that the most important thing is knowing why you want it. Having motivation makes any dark time feel surmountable, even more so if you find your hope in God. It is not easy, but I will always recommend that you stick it through because what you find at Geneva you won’t find anywhere else.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the size never changes. Geneva, at its heart, is a small, tight-knit community, and the size of the classes reflects that. I can’t imagine having the kind of peer relationships that I have if Geneva was larger.

What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
The most influential book I read was The Screwtape Letters by C.S Lewis. It was such an interesting depiction of how demons look at God through their eyes, and how even THEY acknowledge Gods power and authority. Along with this, it just encouraged me to look at things such as religion in different perspectives.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
I have a lot of funny moments (thanks to Chamber Orchestra), but the first one that comes to mind was in orchestra class when I was a freshman. Gracie Doan and I were practicing in one of the practice rooms. She left her coffee by her chair, and Nicolas Siller accidentally knocked it over on the TILE floor. Instead of cleaning it up right away, he insisted on letting it “soak for three minutes”. We started laughing so hard because he was so adamant on letting it soak rather than just use the paper towel to clean it up!

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss the deep and connective talks I get to have with the teachers. I love being able to talk to the ones I’m close with and know they’ll have my back.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
100% Mrs. Sara Gachupin. Starting freshman year, I was kind of rebellious with the thought of being in Orchestra or even pursuing the violin in any way professionally. But her attitude, along with her love for music and teaching it, left such an amazing impression on me. I am inspired to be just like her, hoping that in the future I will leave the same impact on other people.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student means to put your all in everything, no matter what. Also, its finding and spending time in the right things, and pursuing what God has in store for you.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage them to set good habits in how you treat school now. If you treat it like it’s not important, its gonna be really hard to value it in the future. Instead, focus on the fact that you get to spend the day with your friends and learn together. Along with this, I would always encourage them to be open and honest with their teachers. It took me quite a while to understand that they are there to help you, not make things harder.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
In all honesty, the difficulty that is Geneva. Knowing that I must put my best foot forward to achieve the best results I can, rather than being able to get that with little to no effort, is great training for essentially life. The fact that Geneva makes me do hard things, it prepares me for harder things in the future.

My favorite book is without a doubt, Silence. It puts Christianity into perspective and it shows real world examples of defending our faith.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
I have had many funny and/or embarrassing moments at Geneva. One of my favorite was probably when I forgot the most important prop for an entire scene of Anastasia.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss competing and performing for Geneva. I know for certain I will not have the same experience in college.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Dodd Naiser has influenced me the most at Geneva. He is constantly pushing you to be your best and you truly experience growth because of it. In addition, he illustrates his dedication to his students every day, and he demonstrates top notch professionalism.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
As a Geneva student, I am a role model and I am responsible for my actions whether they are good or bad. Being a Geneva student means that you are able to discern topics with a logical and rhetorical approach.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would tell a Kindergartner that life is always difficult, but as you get older God supplies you with the tools necessary to cope with anything.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope that Geneva never loses its small community. Many schools in the area continue to grow but my hope is that Geneva will never experience major growing pains.

The book taught me that the connection of the siblings can truly get you through tough times and that keeping an optimistic point of view can make any situation workable.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
My absolute favorite moments at Geneva is during the runout at home football games. It’s so exciting, and it makes me realizes how supportive the Geneva Community is.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
What I’m going to miss the most about Geneva is the loving and supporting community. I love going to sports games and seeing the turnout of the community as they show their support for the Geneva athletes.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Someone who has really influenced me at Geneva is my cheer coach, Amber Jonas. She taught me to face any challenge with a smile on my face with the knowledge that any situation is in God’s hands.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
As a Geneva Student, I should reflect all of God’s work in my lifestyle and my effort in school. A Geneva student should strive to live for God, in both actions and in means of the heart.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would say to them that it’s extremely important to have fun and makes lots of friends, since these friendships could last you a lifetime.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the feeling of family that spreads from the rhetoric campus to logic school and finally to the buildings of the grammar school never disappears and that the connection of the three schools continue to grow.

What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis was a pretty impactful book. It helped me understand more about core beliefs of Christianity. Also, his background as an atheist-turned-Christian gives his arguments a unique perspective.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
My funniest moment at Geneva was during the Dallas basketball tournament my team attended. Two of the rooms had bed bugs, and everyone started freaking out which was pretty funny.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss the community at Geneva the most. It is really nice walking onto the boardwalk and being able to talk to anyone. I love how we are all different but can still have good discussions.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Everyone in the basketball program has influenced me because they’ve taught me how to work hard. The teacher that has influenced me the most is Mr. Arizpe because he’s lived so much life, I was able to learn so much more from him and have deep conversations with him that have really impacted me.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
It means being able to read and discuss hard topics and being able to communicate with people who might disagree with you.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
How Geneva teaches you to argue and publicly speak will help a lot after high school. What you give is what you get, and you’ll get a lot out of Geneva if you persevere through it.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope that we are able to still come together as a whole school. Kindergarten to 12th grade I hope can come together and be a community.

Mere Christianity is the most influential book I have read because the lessons were understandable and helped me learn more about my faith.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
My favorite memory was when Mr. Arizpe wrote a quote my dad said to me on the board in guitar.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss the close relationships that we have with everyone when I leave Geneva.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Mr.Arizpe has influenced me most because when he went through hard things in his personal life, he was still there for his students.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a student at Geneva means representing our school and God through sports and actions outside school.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage a kindergartner to work hard and don’t put things off.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the relationships students can make with teachers never decreases.
