Geneva Community Life

The Geneva Community Life (GCL) is a parent led organization that exists to facilitate positive relationships (community) between parents, administration and faculty.  All Geneva parents are members.  GCL is led by an eleven-member Executive Committee.

New families are welcomed to the school community through GCL’s Geneva Adoption Program (GAP)  – a program that matches veteran families with new families in the summer to help prepare new families for the start of the school year.  GCL also serves the school community by organizing volunteers (room moms, grade level coordinators, lunch supervisors) as well as planning events such regular prayer gatherings and campus beautification days.

Each fall, GCL hosts the Harvest Festival.  Proceeds from the festival as well as money earned from Used Uniform sales, Ice Cream Friday Sales, and other fundraisers support GCL’s community building efforts.  Extra funds are occasionally gifted to the school for the purchase of special items such as computers, classroom projectors and playground improvements.

GCL also organizes back to school cash gifts for classroom teachers, monthly Teacher Appreciation Luncheons, a voluntary cash collection for faculty Christmas bonuses, Spring staff appreciation and birthday recognition.

Parent Coffees serve as GCL General Meetings and are held semi-annually often following a Friday Assembly.  Parent Education events feature guest speakers who address topics of interest to Geneva parents.
