Geneva School of Boerne was recognized by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools as a top school in its division for the 10th time. Geneva and Austin Brentwood Christian tied for the most points earned in contests in competitive arts, academics and athletics and will share the Henderson Cup this year.

“Geneva is truly a special place. We are blessed with amazing students, and dedicated teachers and coaches. Students and faculty together strive for the true, the good and the beautiful to the glory of Jesus Christ. It’s a wonderful thing when athletics, academics and fine arts work together as the body of Christ to do something that is far bigger than what we can achieve on our own. Winning the Henderson Cup is certainly evidence of this,” Fine Arts Director Gradi Evans said.

This accomplishment included a Yearbook State Championship, an Art State Championship, a Vocal State Championship and third place in the State Academic, Speech and Debate Meet. Orchestra earned second place and band earned third place at State. The varsity girls basketball team finished its season as State Runner-up and the girls soccer and baseball teams were Regional Champions.

The Geneva Fine Art Program earned 40 points in arts contests for the school year which was the most for any TAPPS 4A school. This accomplishment won them the Championship for Fine Arts Program of the Year.

Geneva has had success in TAPPS competitions over the years. The school has now won the Henderson Cup three times as a TAPPS 4A school (2017-18, 2018-19, 2022-2023), twice as a TAPPS 3A school (2014-2015, 2015-2016), twice as a 2A school (2012-2013, 2013-2014) and three times as a 1A school (2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012).

“Winning the Henderson Cup is an accomplishment because it takes a ‘team.’ All programs need to make a contribution to win and this year 17 of our 23 possible programs earned points towards the cup. This is a testament to our ideal student as a servant, scholar, athlete and artist,” Athletic Director Eric Boerboom said.
