Geneva eighth grade student Lucas Boynton (left) won the Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Essay Contest and Logan Fritcher (right) received an Honorable Mention for his essay. Geneva eighth graders participate in this contest through their Civics class taught by Mrs. Stephanie Wilson each year.
Students wrote an essay about the five points of citizenship: honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism. Lucas’s essay won the Geneva contest and Kendall County DAR representative Mrs. Lane Zatopek awarded him a certificate and medal at a recent Geneva Logic School Assembly. Lucas is the son of Marcy and Jonathan Boynton of Boerne.
