Geneva School of Boerne eighth graders traveled to Yorktown, Williamsburg and Jamestown, Virgina, and Washington, D.C., in April. Highlights of their trip included Arlington National Cemetery, U.S. Holocaust Museum, Washington National Cathedral, Museum of the Bible, Smithsonian Institution, as well as the many famous monuments of our nation’s capital. While touring the U.S. Capitol, students were greeted by Geneva alumnus Sutton Houser who works as a communications director for a member of Congress.

“It was my great joy to accompany the Class of 2030 to D.C. this spring. This trip provided many opportunities for us to learn about what happened well before any of us were born. Our students found beauty on an evening on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. They were moved by the painful but necessary truths of the Holocaust Museum and were restored by the transcendental truth of ‘Evensong’ at the National Cathedral. Just as importantly, these young men and women forged stronger ‘bonds of charity’ through the highs and lows of five days of intense togetherness,” Eighth grade Latin and History teacher Lance Higdon said.
