The Eagles varsity golf teams found success at the TAPPS 4A Southern Regional Golf Tournament on Tuesday with the boys team claiming the regional championship and the girls team finishing in third place. With these strong showings, both teams advance to the TAPPS 4A State Golf Tournament in Waco at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course on April 29-30.

In the regional tourney, the boys team of Cade Baron, Soren Burkholder, Hayes Hutton, Gage Kohler and Kevin Vogt shot a team total of 315 to claim the championship. Hayes was the all-tournament low medalist (74), Cade finished as runner-up (75), Gage was fourth place (80) and Soren finished in ninth place (86).

The girls team of Emma Grace Erfurt, Avery Ochoa, Lily Radigan and Aubrey Webb also advances to the State Tournament for the 10th consecutive year with their third place finish in the regional tourney. Lily finished in seventh place (118), Emma Grace was eighth (119) and Aubrey (120) placed 10th to all finish in the top 10. The girls team total was 486.

The teams are coached by Kirk Riggs and Susan Greenlees and are under the instruction of Scott Johnson at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf and Country Club.
