Geneva School of Boerne’s Grammar School recently celebrated reading during its beloved tradition of Book Week. Book Week activities include classroom door-decorating contests, a poster contest, a book drive, classroom guest readers and a parade.

This year’s theme was “Virtue Superheroes.” Book Week festivities concluded with the Book Character Parade Assembly where each student, teacher and administrator dressed as a favorite classic book character or historical figure. Winners for the door-decorating and poster contests were also announced and all students had their moment on stage to share their character’s name and book.

Book Week is one of many fun library events throughout the year where we remind students of the joy and privilege of reading great books. The Book Week Character Parade is probably the highlight of the library year and helps students to grow in their understanding that reading is fun,” Librarian Cindy Young said.
