Key Reminders

  • Grammar First Day of School Assembly Grammar Parents: Join us this morning in the MPB at 8:15 for Grammar School’s First Day of School Assembly.
  • Rhetoric Honor Code Assembly Rhetoric Families: This morning at 9:30am in the Lyceum is Rhetoric’s Honor Code Assembly. 
  • School Photos School photos are happening over the next couple of weeks– be sure to check the landing for your child’s specific time but this morning the Senior Class photo, house photos, and junior and senior individual photos will be taking place. 
  • GateOpening/Traffic And lastly, as you make your way to school this morning, a reminder that our I-10 entrance is open from 7:45-8:45 and then again from 2:30-4:30. If traffic seems busy this morning, remember that over the next two weeks things will start to settle down as we all fall into our new drop off and pick up routines.

Segment of the Week: Each week there will be a segment of the week. This will range from a classical conversation, short interviews with members of Geneva, even alumni, to glimpses into lives around campus and things in between. The hope of this segment is to give a deeper understanding of who we are and what we do.

Trivia: The Trivia segment is new this year. As you make your way to school, you’ll get to test your knowledge and have a friendly competition with family members ranging from questions over the bible, church history, and classical education.

Good Story Box: And our last segment is where I need your help, it’s called ‘Messages from The Good Story Box’ and is only possible with your participation– students, parents, and teachers. Here’s the vision: Throughout your week, look for ways the Lord is actively pursuing, teaching and speaking to you. What has the Lord done for you? What is something beautiful that you have witnessed recently?  We all know how much God loves when we remember what He’s done.

Psalm 105 says “O give thanks to the Lord; call upon His name make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing praises to Him, tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!”

As the Lord prompts you to share, drop off a short note of your good story in the blue mailbox outside the Old Admin Building to be read on this segment of the Fly By. It can be anonymous or you can leave your name to be shared with your message. As a school, let’s sing praises to our God, let’s encourage one another to remember, and in our short drive to school at the start of each week, together would we rejoice over God’s wondrous works.

Verse of the Week: Romans 4 verse 20 says, No unbelief made Abraham waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Go now unwavered and fully convinced!
