Geneva has named its 2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian. These graduating seniors will deliver addresses at the Geneva Commencement in May. Catarina Flores, daughter of Patricia Davilla and Gregorio Flores of Boerne, earned the distinction as Geneva’s 2020 Valedictorian. Geneva third grade students participated in the annual Greek Week as they brought history to life from their studies of Ancient Greece and mythology. Geneva journalism students competed in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial School’s Fall Photo State Contest. The contest offered six different photo categories: Animals, Cityscape/Urban Architecture, Experimental/Enhanced, Scenic/Landscape, Still Life and Waterscapes/Seascapes. Geneva hosts a Mars Hill Lecture event each January with an invited speaker. The Geneva varsity girls basketball team clinched the Gold Bracket Championship in the New Year’s Shootout Tournament Geneva hosted on January 2-3. Geneva celebrated Christmas with three separate programs performed by students in each stage of the school—Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric. The Grammar School students in grades K-5 presented their program with a nativity depicting the holy night Jesus Christ was born over 2,000 years ago. Merry Christmas!
Geneva alumni returned home to challenge the current Eagles varsity basketball players in a game which has become a beloved tradition. Geneva held its annual spelling bee for students in sixth through eighth grades on Monday, December 9. Eighth-grader Claire Coultress (center) was crowned the 2019 Geneva Logic School Spelling Bee Champion.
