Did You Know?
Did you know that Closing Assembly and Senior Luncheon have been happening since the early years of Geneva? Closing Assembly is an intentional pause to come together as a school to worship the Lord for His goodness to Geneva and to celebrate all that happened during the school year. Senior Luncheon started with the first graduating senior class in 2011. In the midst of all the business of graduation, it was, and still is today, another intentional pause for teachers to affirm and celebrate each individual senior before they leave the grounds of Geneva.
Fun Faculty Fact
1st grade teacher, Leah Rhyne, grew up in Friendswood Texas. Her senior year of highschool she was president of the FFA and showed 5 pigs at the county fair. She graduated from Texas A&M University, originally on track to become a veterinarian. Half way through this pursuit, she realized that this may not be what the Lord had for her, and after a phone call with her highschool teacher affirming her giftings, she changed her major to early childhood education. Miss Rhyne taught in public school for two years before coming to Geneva and is currently in her third year here. She loves to read, work out at orange theory, and loves her 100 pound golden doodle, Finnagan. Miss Rhyne’s favorite part of her job is the relationships she has with students and their families. Especially me— I loved being in your class Miss Rhyne.
